Overview
Raka has worked with HomeGoods on multiple projects, including Flash and video animations for their homepage, interactive microsites, Flash pieces and banner ads.
Challenge
HomeGoods often has an idea of what they want, but comes to Raka to execute that idea in a fun and engaging way that is going to attract attention without being too cumbersome or heavy—and since it usually revolves around an upcoming promotion, we have a limited amount of time to get it done.
Solution
Raka always employs the latest technology to get the job done right. When it comes to homepage and banner ad animations for homegoods, we animate imagery, text and video fluidly so that it attracts the eye without distracting. For larger microsites and interactive tools, Raka utilizes advanced programming techniques to tie together all the right pieces. For example, when completing the Holiday Idea Book, Raka built each section of the microsite in Flash, animating each piece on the page to add to the user experience. Once each piece was completed, they were strung together using a complex shell that pulls in each piece dynamically depending upon the user’s selection.
Result
Each project with HomeGoods has been unique in its own challenge, and the results have been consistently strong. The common goal we have set for each project is to take the existing brand, other advertising materials and the needs set forth by HomeGoods, and create a winning end-result that engages, educates and inspires—all with a little flair.
