Raka has worked with TD Banknorth (with our partner VIA) on several rich media campaigns that are meant to be visually stimulating, while at the same time informative of TD Banknorth's competitive rates.

Challenge

From animated banners that feature flyswatters, airplanes, asteroids and spinning globes, to PointRoll expanding rich media ads that advertise dynamic rates that are updated hourly through and XML system that we created, there was no limit to the fun, enticing and technologically advanced pieces that we created for the bank.

Besides always trying to outdo ourselves with more and more interesting animations, our only challenge was doing everything we wanted to do within the restraints of the file size limits that hosting sites restrict you to.

Solution

The key to meeting the challenges of animated advertising like banner ads is to be inventive and clever in your execution. Raka first animated the pieces exactly as we wanted them to be, and then scaled back only as much as we needed to in order to meet the restrictions placed on us by the publishers of the ads. Our imagination was the only other limit, and we had no problem trying to find new and exciting methods to animate the bank’s information in eye-catching ways.

Result

The click-through rates of our ads for TD Banknorth have been consistently strong, leading to more and more campaigns that continue to drive traffic from leading sites like Yahoo, CNN, MySpace, etc. to the bank’s website. With more people visiting their site, more people can become customers—and in the end, that’s really the name of the game when you are thinking about return on investment
