TMS Architects
Raka designed, developed and animated a full Flash website for TMS Architects that displays their beautiful work in a fun and interactive showcase.
Challenge
Despite starting out saying they did not want a full Flash site, Raka quickly discovered that all of TMS Architects’ favorite sites were built in Flash, making it a no-brainer for TMS to change their mind.
Solution
Raka designed several different types of Flash presentations for TMS before they finally settled on the simplest and cleanest of them all. They wanted their work to stand out more than the rest of the site, and so we developed the website to be a shell that houses the imagery of their work, with basic controls for getting around the site. Little details like the way the navigation rollovers work and the blurring of images as they load, were added to make the website interesting, without subtracting from the main focus of the work. Built on a database that TMS can update with new content themselves, including a custom image-cropping tool that Raka developed to make it easier for them to get the perfect fit of the image within its frame.
Result
While being experts with Flash, Raka only recommends using it to its fullest capabilities when it’s the right thing for the client. Creating this interactive showcase was the right choice for TMS, and with the addition of the back-end database tools, the architects do not have to worry about learning any advanced Flash skills to keep the site fresh.
