Raka works with The VIA Group, one of the largest and most respected agencies in the northeast, everyday on new and exciting projects for their many incredible clients. When they came to us to help them design, animate and develop their own website, we were honored and thrilled to get started.
Challenge
VIA needed a website that was animated, searchable and as unique as each of its team members. It also needed to be able to update elements of the website on the fly, to add new jobs or subtract a case study. None of these pieces are difficult on their own, but when you combine them all together, some clever thinking is required.
Solution
Raka set out to help them finalize the design by simplifying everything to a shell with each page laid out differently for the type of content it was to display. Some pages were to have giant images showing the work, others, a mix of imagery and copy and others were to have mostly copy.
With the site organized and structured correctly, Raka set out to build the site in a Flash shell, with a matching HTML shell for those pages that did not need to be animated. The navigation was developed to be driven by XML and therefore easily updatable by anyone in the company. This way, VIA did not have to come back to us to take out a case study and add a new one in – they could manage it all on their end with little technical experience.
With the shell built, we set about animating each page of the site and adding all the copy and imagery. Finally we animated 3 case studies in a movie-like fashion that tells the story of that particular client engagement, and then linked them from calls-to-action on the homepage.
Result
The new website launched in record time and became a great new marketing piece for VIA and a great portfolio piece for Raka.
VIA’s slogan “The difficult we do immediately. The impossible will be done by Thursday.” really captures the spirit of VIA and their ability to solve difficult problems through marketing. We’re happy to help them do that.
