Overview
Whole Foods Market is the world's largest retailer of natural and organic foods. When they approached Raka, they were looking to create a DVD that could be handed out and distributed to chefs and student chefs. The goal was to attract chefs who wanted to work in an award-winning kitchen without the struggles of restaurant life (no benefits, low-pay and grueling hours).
Challenge
Whole Foods supplied Raka with a bunch of great footage, but it all had to be cut together with imagery, new composited animations that we needed to create, and then authored to play on both console DVD players as well as computers with DVD drives. With many different elements coming from different sources, our challenge was to make it all come together and look like one piece.
Solution
With a clear path set forth, Raka began the cutting and editing footage, adding special effects and motion graphics, color-correcting, mixing in music, and designing and authoring an informative and fun DVD menu system.
Using advanced software in combinations (Final Cut Pro, Motion, After Effects, Photoshop and DVD Studio Pro), we were able to marry together all the different types of footage, animations and sounds into one piece that looked as though everything blended together from the same source.
With the DVD all set, we also designed a silk-screened disc label and case to house the DVD, completing the package.
Result
The end result is that cohesive piece that showed Whole Foods as not only a world-class store, but also a world-class employer. It was received very well and sent out to their target audience immediately upon pressing and printing.
