That’s why we compiled this post to provide you with the most up-to-date social media image sizes and dimensions, so you can be sure you’re uploading with the confidence that the picture will look great. The Facebook image sizes below are up-to-date as of April 8, 2014.

Facebook is starting to roll out an updated Business Page design. While the image dimensions have not changed, the on-page locations of several images have. Check out Facebook’s blog post for more information on the update. This is up-to-date as of June 2, 2014.

Profile Picture: 180 x 180 (displays as 160 x 160)

Cover Photo: 851 x 315

Shared Image:

  • 504 maximum width, height varies (narrow images may have grey space).
  • Recommended: 1200 x 1200

Shared Link:

  • 484 x 252
  • Recommended: 1200 x 627

Shared Video: 504 x 283

Photo Thumbnail: 105 x 105

Video Thumbnail (Large): 319 x 176

Video Thumbnail (Small): 157 x 87

Picture in Tweet: 440 x 220 (cannot exceed 1024 x 512 if you want users to see entire image without needing to be expanded)

LinkedIn Image Sizes

The LinkedIn image sizes below are up-to-date as of June 5, 2014.

LinkedIn is currently rolling out an updated profile design (which is only being offered to premium users) that includes the option for a large header photo. More details can be found on the LinkedIn Blog.

Header Photo: 1400 x 425 (recommended)

Banner Image: 646 x 220 (minimum)

Standard Business Logo: 100 x 60

Square Business Logo: 50 x 50

Profile Photo: Between 200 x 200 and 500 x 500

Careers Cover Photo: 974 x 238
